Dear Diary,
Things have started to move a bit more briskly since my last entry. I went to work today to find my boss being put under arrest. I was not able to figure out what he was being arrested for, but he told me to carry on here at the shop, business as usual. So I hung out the closed sign for the day and promptly followed him and the guards.
Somehow I kept running across my companions and soon there were 3 of us: me, the half orc, and the loopy forest gnome following the guards escorting my boss to prison. As we tailed the guards, we noticed a very small child run up and nick one of the guards money pouches and walked quickly over to another very small child. I quickly ran over to the two children to have them do that again, when they scattered like the wind. It took some doing, but we finally were able to find them and talk to them. I told them how impressed I was with their daring-do and asked them if they could do it again. They seemed excited at the prospect and headed off after the guards. We, minus the half orc who had a appointment with sweat and decided to leave us, followed at a distance to watch the kids work.
Unfortunately, the little manling was caught for all of 2 seconds, he was soon free, money bag in hand, and off running until he just vanished into a wall right before our eyes. The guard gave chase and lingered in the alley trying to find the thief, when some cloaked figures put him down for a nap.
The little girl child also did not have any luck, as she tried to.... how should I put this... ah yes, in her own words when I asked her about it later, "Stab him up the butt". We charged the guard to try to help the girl. I flung myself at the guards legs, knocking him down. The girl child managed to take his weapon away from him, and after a short scuffle in which we were not ever going win, we bailed and ran as fast as we could. The guard couldn't follow as he still had Tom with him and we managed to escape, lucky to be alive. I have it on good authority that the cloaked figures soon put that guard down for a nap and Tom has disappeared.
Once again, I think I will turn in, it has been a busy day
